Edge of Yoga: Spring Cleaning Retreat with Dana Rae Pare

Edge of Yoga: Spring Cleaning Retreat, Idyllwild, CA. May 18th – 20th, 2012

Idyllwild – nearby, but a world away!

Need a wire-free weekend?
Three whole days with nothing but the sounds and sights of real nature – majestic views, real crickets, fresh air, the sound of your own breath and the beat of your own heart. When was the last time you truly switched off and gave YourSelf a little downtime – a little YOU time?

Spring is a time for new beginnings – a time for cleansing, growth and development. This Spring, grab your hiking boots and yoga mat and join Dana Rae Paré (Bio) for 3 full days of hiking and transformational yoga in Idyllwild, California. Hike amongst tall pine trees and mountain streams at altitudes of 6-8,000 ft. Breathe in fresh, crisp mountain air; absorb the energy of the nature that surrounds you and re-rejuvenate your soul! Feel empowered each day reaching a new summit with spectacular views. Our hiking program is a perfect complement to yoga, bringing a great sense of accomplishment and gratitude towards the power and beauty of nature (much needed these days!).

Along with daily hiking, move beyond boundaries and explore your Inner Edge with an hour and 45 min.'s of cleansing Transformational Yoga. Dana will lead you on an inward journey increasing awareness and moving you forward in your yoga practice. Each afternoon includes 90 min.'s of Focus & Restore to balance, stretch and deeply relax your body and bring peace of mind. With 3 days of progressive yoga classes, you'll feel physically stronger and more flexible, and mentally calmer and clearer.

Infinite Yoga's 3 day Weekend Retreats are designed for busy people who need a break to unwind their mind and are seeking an extremely active program for their body. This retreat is located in the San Jacinto mountains of Idyllwild, California, an artist's colony just an easy 2 hour drive from L.A. or San Diego. Each day includes active and restorative yoga, and 3-4 hours of hiking (including a silent meditation hike each morning). There are a variety of accommodation options to suit everyone's budget (see below for details).

The retreat begins at noon on Friday May 18th with our first hike to get the body moving and breathing fresh cleansing mountain air after travelling. The retreat ends at 3:00 with our last hike, with an option to leave at 11:00 if you skip the last hike.

For those of you who have been with us in the past… We have a new, upgraded, and more secluded location. New luxury cabin accommodations, nearby mountain homes for those of you coming with your friends, and for a true nature experience, Spring camping under the stars.

Schedule:

3:00 – 4:30pm Free time

4:30-6:00pm Edge Intensive with Restorative Yoga

6:30pm Light and Healthy Dinner on the Deck

Saturday & Sunday

7:00 – 7:45 Peace Walk – greet each day with a silent, meditation hike through the woods. Connect deeply to nature with each conscious step, practicing mindfulness. Increase awareness, ignite your senses, and awaken your spirit - led by Dana.

7:45-9:30 Edge Intensive - Transformational Yoga - take your practice to a new level, challenge yourself and explore your Inner Edge with 3 progressive days of Transformational Yoga. Combining the dynamic flow of Ashtanga Yoga with yoga kriyas (cleanse and detoxify) and corework inspired by Forrest Yoga. Move beyond boundaries to feel strong, free, and energized.

Pre-requisite – This is a multi-level class with options being given to more advanced students. Students must have stamina for multiple sun salutations and knowledge and understanding of Ujjayi breath. Please e-mail Dana if you have any questions on your level of experience. If you’d like a DVD to practice with before the trip, please ask when you register.

9:30 Hearty Brunch – served outside on the deck immediately after practice. Healthy and Nourishing!

11:00 Hiking – our hiking program is an amazing experience. Both challenging and empowering, with hours spent breathing fresh clean air and reconnecting with nature. Each day varies in length from 3 - 4 hours. Which includes taking breaks for water, lunch and, of course, enjoying the spectacular views. For our Spring Cleaning Retreat we will also offer a gentle hike (60-90 mins) each day.

Please Note: We’ll be walking at a moderate pace at altitudes up to 8,000 feet. If you are not used to this or do not currently walk, hike or run on a regular basis, we highly recommend beginning a walking program at least two months prior to this weekend. We want this to be a pleasant experience for all. Please email us for any advice or guidance. You may also choose to join us for the morning meditation hike and yoga and take the gentle hike. Idyllwild has many art galleries to explore or you can relax and read a book by the creek.

3:00 Retreat Finishes (Sunday)

3:00 – 4:30 Free Time (Friday & Saturday) – relax & reflect.

4:30 – 6:00 Focus & Restore (Saturday) – A mini-workshop focusing on one or two challenging postures followed by restorative yoga to balance, stretch, and deeply relax your body. The perfect way to complete the day!

Meals
You'll be served a large, delicious Brunch Buffet each morning after yoga practice. A healthy, nutritious packed lunch is provided each day for hikers. Both meals are lacto-ovo vegetarian. For dinner we offer a light and healthy vegetarian meal on Friday evening. On Saturday you can experience the wide variety of restaurants and cafes that Idyllwild offers and make your own choice. A list of selections is included in your joining pack.
